Reading Diary 5
6. Sometimes we are pulled toward one or two characters in the story. We identify with them or feel sympathy for them. With which characters do you identify in the book, and why do you believe you identify with them?Well I would Identify the father and son Hanji and Jiro.I picked them because of their relationship as father and son and what happened between them. Jiro is a boy with a lot of potential of being a master puppeteer as for Hanji is Jiros dad but one day he was said to be sick, after when Jiro went back he couldn't find Hanji so then at the end of the story Jiro found out that Hanji was apart of Saburo's band of thieves.I feel sorry for Jiro because his father is a criminal but Hanji was lucky that his son didn't turn him in because he was his father. In my thought I might have turned him in because he broke the law and I could've went to jail also.So I could have hard to deal with living with someone who has committed crimes but I would have to live with it.

Reading Diary 4
13.It is unusual to wish that our lives of characters in stories. How would you change your own life to be more like the world of your story?
Well my life is good as it is but to me its boring. So what I mean is that my life doesn't have much actions and more real life situations. So like Jiro and everyone else they have action so the kind of action they have is finding the identity of a criminal called Saburo. Also what other thing that could be changed in my life is the fact that instead over here in Hawaii my life could change if I lived in Japan, I could do many different things if I did.I could eat different foods like sushi.Instead of watching a movie I could watch puppets and learn some stories about them.So living in Japan could totally change my expeirence in Hawaii and life will be different because of the traditions in Japan than Hawaii also to make my life better I could do more things like meeting new people and solving a crime like Jiro and the others.

Reading Diary Prompts 3
14.Why do you think the author wrote this story ?Where did the author get the idea or the characters? What message do you think that the author is trying to share?
The author could have created this for a number of reasons but the reason I think was that recently he went to a trip to Japan and she saw many thing and traditions that happened there like puppets. After when she went back she thought about a story called The Master Puppeteer. Another reason could be that he wanted this story to be like a story about someones past like her's .
Well maybe the characters could have came from people in her own life.So maybe Kinshi would be like a teacher because he is Jiro's master. So Jiro could be the author because he learns from Yoshida. As for the others could be like supporting characters to help the story move along or make this story more exciting.
The message I think the author is trying to share is Japanese culture. What makes me think this is the parts about like a puppet show. Also it could be also telling us how people are in Japan. For example Saburo the bandit this character could represent criminals in Japan. Also the author could be writing a book to show how different it could be from Japan and here.

Reading Diary Prompts #2
2.Does the story or its characters remind you of another story you have read?Does it remind you of a movie? How are they alike? How are they different?
To me I think I have heard of a book like this before its called Diary of A Wimpy Kid The last Straw. In this book a boy named Greg Heffley believes his dad is gonna ship him off to military school because his dad thinks he is well wimpy. So his dad tells him to buff up.So this is lie the story because Jiro does many things to impress others so what he did was he made a puppet and he showed it to others.Like Greg he impresses his father.
So what makes them really different is that they come from different places.Another thing that makes them different is that they do different things to impress each other, such as Greg trying to be buff and Jiro making puppets.Another thing thats different is that Greg is impressing his dad and Jiro is impressing Kinshi.

Reading Diary Promts
5.If you were to put this story into your own life in the area where you live around the people and friends that you know how would the story change ?How would the people the people change ?Would the setting change? Why would these changes have changes have to take place?
Answer:Well if the story changed because of the place being taken here it would be better in my perspective. If the story was my friends and family It would be different like having a good community with alot more friendly people and we wouldn't strive for money. Also instead of puppets we would do something else because most people are not Japanese so people wouldn't sell puppets for a living.Well most of these changes will mostly occur because of the people over here compared to Japan.

Prediction
Prediction For The Master Puppeteer
So for lit circles I am reading a book called The Master Puppeteer which looks like its about one man who lives in China who works with puppets for a living. So maybe this man is on a quest to find something because on the bottom of the page it shows a man traveling. But the different man who's traveling could be like a student of the man. Then, the man could train him in the art of puppet using. So the man in the back round could be the mentor which he trains the man but goes to a far and wide journey.

Book Evidence #1
T:Zoobreak
A:Gordon Korman
G:Realistic Fiction
Pages:229
8.Now that you are this far into the story, what do you look forward to learning next? What conflicts or problems do you think the characters will face? What qualities your character (honest, loyal, cruel, dishonest, angry, vengeful) will affect how the character handles problems and conflicts he or she encounters?
For this book I am more excited to learn about the end of the story. So like what will happen when they save Cleo the monkey that belongs to Savannah Drysdale. So what will happen after their second time breaking into the zoo twice. They broke in before but failed to escape on the boat. But after I think they are able to escape to without getting in trouble with the man with the plan,Griffin Bing, and the friends Savannah, and Ben.
Like the last time they tried to get Cleo out of the zoo they faced many problems that may happen this time. Some problems were the security guard Mr.Nastase who looks out at night for people and he saw them last time.Another problem could be the boat they tried to escape in like last time they went through everything except the boat they used to escape. The last problem would be the loud animals that might make noise and wake up the security guard and try to catch the group of kids.
The qualities of my character which is Griffin which is the man with a plan is smart and quick. This may help him bust out the animals because with his smartness he can think of a plan to get Cleo and his friend back to safety after they get Cleo back to Savannah. Also his quickness will help because needs to think quickly so they can escape without a problem comes on their hand like the zoo security guard. Also if they make the animals loud and Mr.Nastase wakes up to look they need to escape fast or they will get caught.
